AndyG8nby
The car always goes on the rollers for a brake test to see how efficient and balanced the brakes are on each side.
leebottrill
had a chat with them. they use a roller that spins both wheels at the same time. They said the problem is when only one wheel is tested! Im a little less worried now! oh and it passed.....anyone else had this problem? cs2000
Car shouldn't go on rollers for a brake test. Can damage the diff. I specifically request it at every mot to make sure
WhackyWill
I make sure they never put mine on the rollers for a brake test. I put a big notice in the car for them not to.
leebottrill
Ill make sure next time. Like i said at least the rolling road wasn't a single drive, which is were the problem with the diff is apparently. He did show me the warning on screen and said the equipment they have is completely fine
350zedd
They usually use a decelerometer that sits in the passenger footwell and measures the braking effect. Mine went in last week for an MoT but the instrument was away for calibration, so he used a bucket full of water instead and measured how much tipped out! I was swimming in there for days after!
JetSet
The car always goes on the rollers for a brake test to see how efficient and balanced the brakes are on each side. Yes, the test is so brief that and at such a low speed that damage is highly unlikely and the Tapley can't identify individual brake problems. Mine's been on the rollers for the last 6 MOT's and Caroline's Zed for the last 4. Pete
Netnomad
Noticed the rollers were set for 4 wheel drive when I had my MOT last week.

I used a performance car specialist who have been building, racing and servicing performance cars since 1964. They said that it can be done on the rollers if done in the correct manner or they can use a decelerometer.
