I notice it has the Toyota std case, I bought one of the American Supra tuners pumps for my Supra, which was supposed to be better/uprated but found that it wasn't either....just a std pump, I even had to rebuild it as the rota wouldn't turn when I got it. Ian
According to Titan Titan Motorsports is proud to introduce its performance oil pump for the Toyota 2JZ engine. Titan begins with an brand new OEM Toyota Oil pump and performs a complete disassembly and inspection prior to upgrade. The factory tolerances are verified and any imperfections are deburred for precise fitment. The pressure and feed sides both receive exstensive porting to improve increased flow and to prevent cavitation. When completed with the modification the pump is pressure cleaned before being reassembled to factory specifications and painted black for improved aesthetics. No core exchange is needed for this process as all pumps start with a brand new unit that is factored into the retail price.
Tricky-Ricky
Hmmm! interesting, pretty much the same blurb that I got with mine, and after dismantling it I found nothing that differed from the std unit other than the drain being opened up to 6mm as opposed to the std 4mm...and they charge a fair bit more than a std unit. Ian
Was the one you bought made by Titan?
Tricky-Ricky
No just had a look which one it was and it was from PHR http://www.powerhouseracing.com/p-4421-phr-modified-oil-pump-for-1993-98-supra-tt.aspx which is pretty similar apart from the porting, which I am not convinced about, interestingly neither mention opening out the drain....which is key in preventing front seal failure when the pump becomes slightly worn. Ian
Hmmm, will get my mate to compare the Titan against the OEM one next week and see what, if any differences there are
longsh07
Looking forward to seeing how this progresses. 2JZ or RB26 would be my two choices for an engine swap if my VQ ever gives up on me.

Keyser
As if I would make fun Wasso - Ian has a turbo so I'll give him the gold wrap on functionality - but it's you car if you want to put a gold wrap in there you do that it will be chavtastic Keep up the good work Ian - When you finish we can have a meet at Castle Combe and see how your 600+ HP turbo does against my miniscule 270hp NA
GMballistic
Great bit of progress Ian. I actually quite like that gold leaf especially as it is functional considering the temperatures that turbo's can reach. Oh and great job on modifying that subframe.
