Folding mirror position..

So I noticed the other that my mirrors are in different positions, drivers side folds out further than passengers side.

Now I've noticed it, it's gonna bug me as they look different when looking at the front or rear of the car..

Anyone know how to best sort.. I assume if I just muscle it into a different position I could knacker the gears on the motor..?

Sounds like somebody walked into it and mover it out of place by a cog,

you shouldn't damage it by "gently" moving it back into position, I had the same thing

and providing you don't force it back it s OK.

as above move it back, it sounds like a ratchet mechanism when you move them manually, done it myself before and works fine as will says
