Ken
Well, Will Andrew and myself, decided to spend the day cleaning out the new BMW we bought for the track. This is the replacement for the E36 we had. We have tracked it once at Bedford just as we purchased it to see how it faired. Now the time has come to make a few alterations. The aim is to have a bit of track fun on a low budget. After previously fitted new brake pads and discs, one new brake caliper, oil and filter. So the day begins. Some pics of how it looked before we started. Now Andrew is really getting stuck in. His preferred tool for the job Getting to enthusiastic if you as me And so the mound gets bigger. And bigger. We end up with this little lot Will to Andrew, have you left the hand brake in, or has that gone and why is this no longer working . The after shots. The end of the day

GMballistic
Any guesses on how much weight the Beemer has shed then? Should make it a bit more lively eitherway.
Ken
We think 80/100 kilo, Andrew is getting the car on the scales at work for a more accurate figure. Once we replace the two front seats, that should loss another 50/60 kilo maybe more, they weigh a ton.
GMballistic
That's pretty good Ken ~ would love to take some weight out of my fat Zed but then it is a daily driver so I'd miss the comfort. Plus I love the heated seats too much.

Ken
That's it, Will's the brains. He only turned up to see if he could get in it without banging his head, after removing the offending roof grab handles He did get his hands dirty, kept Andrew from ripping to many bits out and got the lunch .

brillomaster
every ounce counts! lightness is the best mod you can do to a track car, and great thing is its free! really looking forward to trying it it tomorrow, very real possibility we'll be one of the faster cars on track - 230bhp in a lightened beemer should be sweet
