Jay.1r
Hello guys, I have agreed a price for this exhaust with the seller and about to put my deposit down, but reading online has got me Abit worried, does this look genuine to you? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=301308057227
Hell presidente
IMHO mate no one would sell an unused HKS for that amount of money, even a used should be well over twice that amount, maybe 3-4 times that depending on condition. Lexx
It's on Driftworks for £500.
mouthwash
What's with the additional pipes between the mid pipes and the rear pipes? Having a look online it looks very similar but not sure what those pipes are all about.
mouthwash
Also, sticker not hard to get hold of.
Jay.1r
Thanks guys, I may pass on it, is there any sure fire way to tell?
Jay.1r
And he accepted £450 for it, havent handed a penny over yet
Vlad
Seen few posts/pics on FB group (mainly from US guys) about genuine HKS and copy - and most of them said that copy is as good as real! So if you got it for £450 - you might got yourself a bargain
Jay.1r
Hmm could argue cheaper now I know its not real, might work in my favour
BulletMagnet
Would have thought the welds on a genuine HKS would have been nicer/cleaner. I'm guessing Japspeed K4
KyleR
I don't think its genuine either. Surely someone who coughs up £2k(?) for an exhaust would cough up for genuine LED tail lights too?
Dblock
What's with the additional pipes between the mid pipes and the rear pipes? Having a look online it looks very similar but not sure what those pipes are all about. They are for a g35. That makes me think it's a x02.
Jay.1r
Are the x02's any good? Worth buying or saving for an ARK system?
StevoD
none of the hks i can see have stickers on the inside
StevoD
and it looks like on the real one the caps for resonator cans? is that what there called are welded on not one piece as per the one on ebay
BulletMagnet
Yes Steve, I think they are called Helmholz Resonators or something
SJ350z
It's more a question of " will you be happy with a potential replica for £450? " Or would you rather spend more and have peace of mind knowing its genuine? If I could hear that exact exhaust in person or on a few good quality videos then maybe I would buy it but just looking at pictures isn't enough for me. Might sound rubbish and then you're stuck and £450 down the swanny lol. Best of luck with the decision
BulletMagnet
looking at bidding history on this item and his own feedback i would be suspicious
Dblock
Are the x02's any good? Worth buying or saving for an ARK system? Never heard an ark but they look well made. Tbh I had an x02. Nice exhaust. I had mine decatted. It was loud. Like silly loud. Only reason I got rid was I didn't like the bassy deep sound. Well made exhaust though. Uk owners need to watch it clears the diff fins.
Dblock
I saw well made in comparison to my k2
Jay.1r
I have told him £400 including delivery, even if I didnt like the system I think I could get back a decent proportion at that price, although im looking at other systems for sale, fancying the look of the invidia too now, im looking for a loud system but not droany at motorway speeds.
