Payco
Good work but is the heat tape really necessary ?. Not seen anyone else on here apply it. I think it detracts from the look of your bay. Not wanting to be negative about what you have done as it all looks good, just a question / my view.. Edited May 11, 2015 by Payco
Kaveney
I was waiting on it looks sh*t comment I have had it on my old Mr2 Turbo and the inlet temp was 37 deg as std then 28 with the tape . Im not into looks under the bonnet so it is ok for me but I can see why people would not like the looks of it even if it does its job . Payco
As I said not knocking it. I guess you are speaking to the wrong guy about looks under the bonnet. Hope to catch up with you at some point as you are in Sussex. Keep up the good work..
Grundy
Looking at Bleeding out my clutch fluid today as mine had gone the same colour as yours Any tips? Did you use a syringe to get 90% of the fluid out the engine bay fluid bottle? And what did you use on the bleed nipple to bleed out the fluid, i,e did you use a specific size pipe? Yes I syringe out the old fluid and used a brake bleeding pipe and box . I replaced my clutch line and let too much fluid out and air in so had a task getting any pressure in to the slave Alan
hughesy
Any reason why bhp had dropped as low as 225? Surely that can't be typical?
mrkieran23
I was thinking the same, 225 is far different from the factory 276, i want to get my car on the dyno at modified nationals but seeing this it was put me off in case i have a very low reading standard
Kaveney
225 BHP is on a hub dyno so this would be around 260 - 265 BHP on a R/R dyno . Most of the 350Z DE do not make book power so 250 - 260 BHP is normal have a search . I would not get caught up with numbers its how the car drives and feels that matters . Kaveney
Got a engine torque damper delivered form the USA on Friday Fitting was ok but space was tight . All in with earth bracket connected . There is slightly more noise / vibration in the cabin but nothing that you can feel to much . Throttle response feels a little more quicker more so in the lower gears . Ogman
Looking good! Will have to let us know if you feel any improvements - be interested to see! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Kaveney
Have checked this a few times now and the plenum is tepid when before it was hot and the upper plenum / throttle body is now cold to the touch after 40 mins of driving . I wish I had done a before and after heat test on the plenum / throttle body as would be good to see the difference but it is much cooler to my surprise . Kaveney
At the weekend I got round to upgrading the suspension at last . Parts arrived from the USA . Tein springs and Tokico shocks Old shock and spring out ( this set up has done 91K miles so a bit tired ) New Blue Tokico shock Old vs new shock Old vs new spring Old vs new shock return vid http://vid298.photobucket.com/albums/mm273/kaveney_photo/WP_20150620_0091_zpsqynrvqhm.mp4 All set up new shock and spring Installed Old rear shock Old vs new New ready to go on Rear shock & spring installed Have only done a few miles but its only a little firmer than stock and should be better in the corners . Ogman
Nice little upgrade. Interesting results on the last upgrades too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Kaveney
So far the Tein / Tokico is proving a nice set up . I would say around 10 % stiffer than stock but when you push more In the corners everything tightens up . Alan
Kaveney
Yesterday I got the car park dents on the drivers door removed that were annoying me . Small but I could see them . After All pulled out with no paint or filler so im happy with that . Alan

Kaveney
Update time Was booked in to Abbey Motorsport for some work to be done . First was a new Exedy clutch and LUK DMF that was fitted and new gear box oil added . Some pic of the old units that have done 92K miles . Old DMF Old Clutch still in ok shape but some of the rivets were getting close . Then as the gearbox was off I had some DC sports S/S manifolds ( headers if you are from the USA ) installed . Old log type manifold with smallish ports and uneven length tubes . New DC Sport S/S equal length manifold Installed . And last to be re mapped on the dyno . I was told that the manifolds would only give a very small gain in power and torque so the gains are about what I was expecting with the bonus of more power and torque on the whole rev range( + 11 LB/FT at 2300 RPM ) and not moving the power and torque up all at the top of the rev range .
