Kaveney
First post so be nice After reading about the problems with the rad fans today i drove home ( 25 mile trip ) and then sat the car at idle just to check and the temp went up to just before the red before i switched it off as to not hurt the engine . No fans came on well the far right one did ( near the air filter side ) but very slow and with a bit of a wobble and then went out and never came on again . Car is full of coolant so i take it the fans have had it . Question is where is the best / cheep place to get a replacment and two it looks like a simple job to do ( not to bad with the spaners ) Thanks Alan Edited September 9, 2014 by Kaveney

GMballistic
Hi Alan, Thread just the other week about this and lot's before that too. Link: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/90005-overheating-only-driven-250-miles/ As others have said the likely cause is the fans not working. When the car is running and comes up to working temperature you should see one of the fans start to work, if not then it's probably had it. The other fan works when the A/c is turned on so you can check that by turning that on when the cars running. Some members have taken their fan motors apart and cleaned them/replaced parts but usually this is just a temporary fix. Link: http://www.350z-uk.c...rs-youtube-vid/ Link: http://www.350z-uk.c...-small-how-too/ Alternatively you could get a good used set of OEM fans from zmanalex on here or from one of the other members/traders that are currently breaking 350Z's. Another alternative is to take the opportunity to upgrade at a cost more reasonable than the OEM parts from Nissan. As Jumping350 mentioned you can get the Mishimoto fan shroud which Clark Motorsport, Tarmac Sportz and others sell on here. Link to Tarmacs fans although PM him for best delivered price; http://www.tarmacspo...S-350Z-03_.aspx Good luck. Sending a message to zmanalex is a great place to get good used fans from if that's what you're after ~ other options above. Good luck. longsh07
Welcome to the forum. Heard good things about the Mishimoto fan shroud so that would be my choice in your situation. Worth noting that when I had a trip to Abbey motorsport recently Mark mentioned that despite the water temp gauge showing just under half, it was actually 105 °C. Nothing wrong with the gauge, its just "a typical Nissan gauge" and bit crap apparently I believe the words Mark used were "if it get to the red line its f***ing hot!" Ewen@Clark Motorsport
Welcome along The Mishimoto fan shroud is by far the most economical replacement

Kaveney
Just checking this as I have fitted the Mishimoto fan and wired this up ok . When the air con is on the drivers side fan comes on When the engine gets to hot the drivers side fan comes on The Passenger side fan does not come on so far . Is this correct and when does this fan come on . Alan
Kaveney
Just to note only the drivers fan comes on but this is when the car is sat and gets hot but not over hot . Do I take it the passenger fan will kick in when it gets even hotter ? Alan
