zeddy addict
Just sold my 350z roadster which I dearly loved as we had to buy a sensible estate car so the toy had to go to fund it. I also own a stunning escort cosworth which is kept in storage and to be honest, never comes out except for a service and MOT. It has done 29k genuine miles with every MOT and loads of history from day one. Never welded, all original panels and paint, the car is immaculate and kept covered connected to an Optimate in heated, carpeted storage. Prices of these are climbing big time and through word of mouth I have had a very serious offer on it this week. My dilemma is do I just keep it mothballed for another few years never using it or just take the money now prices are good and release some more funds. The thought if being able to get another z with money left over is seriously tempting me........

Ekona
Cars should be driven, not kept in storage. Flog it and take the cash.

350zedd
I think you've answered your own question there I'm not a believer in storing things up for tomorrow, so if I were you, I'd sell the cossie and buy another Zed. You know how much you enjoy driving it,so really its a no brainer! Enjoy today while it is today!!......if you get my drift

zeddy addict
Keep convincing me.........know it makes sense but I have had the cossie 5 years so I will miss it but it costs me money every year just to keep it maintained. If I could find a really nice HR coupe it might just ease the pain and at least I could actually drive it without fear of it clocking up another mile or getting dirty lol. pjf1985
It's a Ford, get rid before the rust does set in! Sell it and get a Zed, you'll get a lot more enjoyment from it!!
AliveBoy
To be honest, I'd say drive the cossie Not many people get to drive them and they were supposed to be a superb drivers car. Who gives a crap if it gets dirty?! You can always clean it again
Bems
Sell it. Agree with Ekona. No grain tee prices will keep climbing & you have maintenance costs for something your not driving. You could keep it, take it out for annual mot & find out something is at fault which is pointless if you ask me. What mileage you clocked up in 5 years of ownership? How many miles have you driven it in that time? Have you actually gotten any pleasure from the ownership experience in terms of driving, or is it just nice to look at? It's an M reg, purple with a huge wing on the back of it, I'm not 100% certain but I think he bought it when it was about 12 months old. He is in pretty much the same boat as you, keeps it stored and just brings it out for MOT's and a quick run around the block on the odd occasion. He's into Fords and also has a Focus ST but last time I spoke to him in April he was agonising about selling it as he wanted to buy a Focus RS. Don't know the mileage because he used it until around 2003 so probably a bit higher than yours. Pete
Wasso
Why have something stored that doesn't go anywhere, that's not pleasure that's just holding onto something for the sake of it. Ok so it's an investment and as paid off, take the profit and buy something you can enjoy.
Payco
Ditto what others have said. Life is for living and enjoying. Sell her and get a car you can enjoy and drive.

Grundy
Just drive the Cossi Never understand storing of cars (Old slow classics yes) Drivers cars, no. Same for storing your car at winter and just bringing it out for summer. Cars are for driving. Enjoy them

How many miles have you driven it in that time? Have you actually gotten any pleasure from the ownership experience in terms of driving, or is it just nice to look at? Sad thing in I have done less than 200 miles in all that time. I love to look at it but it is an expensive garage ornament. Yes, I have enjoyed it and bought it as an investment, have made something on it but I can't see the situation of using it more ever changing as when the shows are on in Summer we have always been busiest at work and being self employed just can't take the time off to go. Going to be hard but think you have all echoed my thoughts, thanks for the advice
Wasso
Take some really good pictures, get a pro in iff necessary and have pics in the garage or round the house. That's what I'd do, until the Mrs turns around and says "no we are not having Cossi wallpaper!!"
Wendy
As with most of the others - Drive it and enjoy it, or sell it - a Museum is a really good idea and buy something you will enjoy driving. I have a 96 Corrado VR6 - which hopefully will climb in value through the next coming years. It is garaged, but also driven as much as my 350z (and booked for a full respray next year) I also have Car pictures all around my house !! If your Mrs is not so keen on that idea - how about designating one room for photo's of the Cozzi
AliveBoy
Is there a ford heritage centre in the UK? I know that Mercedes-Benz World look after an old merc for the owner for free, so long as it's something special they can put on display and they'll keep it maintained and immaculate. Best thing is, you still have the investment, you can still see it whenever you like under awesome lighting and other people get to appreciate your pride and joy too. It's also always going to be safe and protected from harm.
