Marti350z
Right guys, So i was driving home last night , windows down with no music, and literally all of a sudden my z has started making this noise, Before hand the car ran and sounded perfect, I'm actually not sure where to start, I have had a search and I'm thinking fuel pressure regulator, but this seams to sound a lot worse then the ones ive heard on the net, It sounds like it's coming from the back end of the engine Not had chance to have a proper look as I was home very late :/ Any help us really appreciated ! Cheers https://vimeo.com/104779950 In the video there's no light just the hortible sound Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ekona
That sounds f*cked to me. Check your oil level.
ZMANALEX
Camshaft, caused by very low oil level. Edited August 30, 2014 by ZMANALEX
glrnet
That does sound "camshafty"
Keyser
That does not sound good - camshaft a valve or a bearing
Paddy78
The guys above know what they're talking about. I have a dodgy fuel pressure regulator and it doesn't sound anything like that I'm afraid!

Tricky-Ricky
Sounds like a rod bearing failed to me.
Marti350z
I've checked the oil, it's fine, I'm guessing a rod bearing I can't believe it man! Am I best just looking at a engine rebuild? And does anybody know a specialist of some sort, kinda close to Gloucestershire? Cheers peeps for the quick replys !! GMballistic
Pm Clarke Motorsport for a used good lump ^^ This is probably the best/cheapest option. That sound to me was very similar to my old Impreza when the big end had gone/was going.
Marti350z
Will have to wait until I'm back from work and go on laptop, phone won't let me pm, Anyone know a rough price for a used lump? GMballistic
Anyone know a rough price for a used lump? Do Clarke Motorsport fit them. ? Used lump will be around £1500-£2500. Spotted one at Clark Motorsport which is £1995 incl VAT. Link: http://www.clarkmoto...(Bare)-u/113339 Some details below. Removed from 2006 Rev-up car which had done 33500 miles. Comes with 30 day parts warranty. Engine does not come with any ancillaries. These can be puchased separately Obviously that ones from a 2006 RevUp DE model so if your's is a non-RevUp then you won't be able to use that one (without a lot of hassle) and will require the older DE variant. Unsure if they fit them. Edited August 30, 2014 by GMballistic

MCook
Just curious.... How many miles has your Zed done?
Marti350z
It's constant , as soon as the car is started the noise is present, I'm pretty sure it's spun a bearing Car has just over 45000 miles ..
