Cookie
Hi, Going to be replacing my cats soon as one of my originals is damaged. Has anyone on here tried selling them as scrap lately so i know a rough price and if its worth taking them to a yard? Cheers
bamdc2
Seems harsh just to scrap them, at least take the little guy to a vet if your poor cat is damaged!! Seriously though, I would ring around a few scrap places and see what they offer you. Afterall you dont want to mess around travelling too far and may be worth it
RDON
OEM cats will normally fetch twice that of aftermarket stuff as precious metal content is more! I would guestimate some where in the region of 150 scrap.
coldel
Tried selling mine on here a few years back - certainly no where near £150, I think a local scrappie offered something like £30 each.
Cookie
Thats not too bad, as long as its not a tenner which will near enough be the petrol money to take them. Worth a trip even if it's only £60 for the pair. Just brings the price of the new HFCs down in theory Cheers
Martinjj
Cats from deisel engines are worth more, seem to recall they have substantially more platinum in them than petrol engine cats
Cookie
You going to be doing the same with yours Martin when you get your new Berks or are you selling yours as spares?
Martinjj
You going to be doing the same with yours Martin when you get your new Berks or are you selling yours as spares? Dunno yet, probs hang onto them if resale value is low (which they will be with 70k miles on them), at least then if i ever sell the zed i can revert the cats back to stock and get more for the Berks due to them having lower mileage and being a sought after item...
