TomsThreeFiddy
Hi guys, I noticed the wing mirror panel on the driver side was a bit loose the other day, the electrics still work fine but the rubber seal must have torn a bit. Just wondering if anyone knows if there's a simple/effective fix for this without having to take the whole thing off and risk damaging the wiring (my practical skills are...lacking, so the less mucking about the better ) Also, to replace the torn rubber seal what should I search for on ebay? "Wing mirror rubber seal" doesn't yield any useful results :/ Cheers, Tom
GMballistic
Tom I'm thinking a bolt may have come loose looking at the pictures. From what I've read there are three 10mm bolts that hold the wing mirror on to the car door ~ it's possible that one has worked it's way lose and that's why your mirror looks like it does. You will need to remove the door card to be able to get at it I think. Some info in this thread here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/33635-wing-mirror-guide/ Also a proper guide here for you on how to remove the door card if that is in fact what you need to do; http://liljerk.morpheus.net/350Z/front_speakers/ Hope that helps. TomsThreeFiddy
Got the panels etc. off but the bolts look fine to me, didn't have time to delve any deeper cuz I needed to reassemble for an outing soon so I'll have to have another look tomorrow. GMballistic
Hhhmm curious. Did you try tightening them or at least checking that first nut/bolt to see if the mirror assembly moved inwards at all? Not had this myself just shooting ideas out there. Hopefully with the post bump this will give you some more members will pop in with ideas. Hopefully zmanalex.
