ostego
When starting up my car from a cold start, the engine oil light will stay on approx 1 second after all of the other lights go off. Not sure whether it is related or not but i also get a cambelt squeak on cold starts Is this anything to worry about? Am taking it to hdev for a service in a week or 2, but just want a general idea as the last surprise i got after a service was a £800 bill for other stuff! Neilp
you don't have a cambelt and it may be a slow oil pressure sender. I wouldn't worry about it as long as it comes upto the correct pressure afterwards.
ostego
I was under the impression that it didnt have a cambelt so am baffled as to what that squeak could be then as it sounds identical to one. I check my oil every 2 weeks after i realized the importance of doing it 8 months back.... so my oil level is always fine. Ill keep an eye on the pressure gauge going forward and see if it libks in to the light. The pressure is always high at 3 quarters idling after startup and then rests at around 20 when idling and warmed up Edited August 16, 2014 by ostego
Neilp
You have an alternator and aux belt that may need tensioning if they have been changed recently
