leebottrill
Took my car in last week to have something fixed in the door. Got it back all fine. Washed and waxed last night and noticed a little dent in the door. I then realised the dent was internal. They must have knocked it when they where in there. Do you think I have a leg to stand on? It was defo not there before!
AliveBoy
worth a shot, if it wasn't on the check sheet they do when the car goes in then they should fix it for you

rabbitstew
Thats a great result and good that the garage is being honest & sorting the problem out. I actually had a car catch fire once as I drove away from having a new clutch fitted at a national clutch chain. I kid you not, the car actually caught fire. It was just sheer luck I noticed the smoke straight away, pulled over and popped the bonnet and managed to put the fire out. The cause was that the sound deadening hadnt been put back on properly and it was left resting on the exhaust manifold so it promptly caught fire. They had also forgot to reconnect a pipe on my turbo which meant the car was dangerously overboosting. The garage didnt want to know about it and basically said it was my word against theres so tough. I spent a few weeks disputing things with their head office but in the end didnt get anywhere. It was just pure luck I was alert enough to spot the smoke and put the fire out. I dread to think what would have happened had I been a mum in the car with a bunch of young kids strapped into car seats etc..

Dicky
Put mine in for some warranty work. When I collected it there was a chunk out of the wing mirror. Even though I had them check the car over for scratches etc before leaving it they still swore it wasn't down to them. Now like most here I knew every scratch on my car but they insisted the guy who did the work had completed an inspection report and had ticked it as already having damage. I told them anyone can place a tick in a box to cover their mistake but they wouldn't budge I eventually had to agree to a contribution to cost. Never been back there again and never will. samsniss350z
A few years ago a mate of mine suffered scratched paintwork which he couldn't prove was the fault of the garage. He got nowhere with it and since then every time he takes his car in for any type of work he gets the service manager to go round the car with him checking it panel by panel. I've taken to doing this as well as i think it sends a subtle message that you're not prepared to be messed around with a his word against mine scenario. We go through the same process when i collect the car as well.

WhackyWill
I put my RS280T in for a service at Supertune many years back, got a call to pick it up, as it was ready, arrived by cab just in time to see a dust cart go down the whole side of the car as they had parked it outside on the road..!!!! :scare:
