Stutopia
Got my GoPro for Florida road trip next month so now I need to spend the same again on accessories What I am after is suggestions for any/all of the following: - A big pole (ooo err) to stick it on. This must be telescopic and solid, I don't want to be fishing my unit out of a 'gator infested swamp. Or getting too close to Gentle Ben. - A proper suction mount. As as above, must REALLY stick on to stuff like airboats, Camaros or highly polished skulls. - A polarising filter that stays on and cuts glare and gives nice blue skies. - Anyone bought the battery extender? Any better than just buying a few spare batteries? - A shortish "grip" to hold it steady, but close to my face so I can see what I'm shooting. - A rugged carry case. - Anything else you have got/used that you find invaluable. If you could put a link in too, I'd get all moist. Thanks.
Ekona
Buy this suction mount, NOT the official one. Far superior, and this is the one the pros use when filming. You WILL need the bigger battery, even with it mine doesn't last more than a few hours if you're on/off/WiFi. That is, unless you run it from USB all the time which I now do when in the car if at all possible. Any monopod will do, just find a cheap one from eBay. You can use the GoPro thread adaptor you get with the suction mount I linked to to attach it.
Stutopia
Sweet, two birds with one stone. What do you store it in?
Ekona
I've got a small Lowepro bag that I used to use for my old video camera, so I binned the video camera and just shoved all the bits in that instead. Stuff kinda gets wedged in there rather than fits
Stutopia
The DCS store is fantastic, thanks for the tip Dan (not that my credit card will thank you ) you can do £150 in there in the blink of an eye I've got an old case, but it's storing an old camera - can't bear to chuck away something that works. I'm gonna need a suitcase just for toys at this rate...

marzman
It's all about the thread adaptor... then you can use any traditional style mount you want. I use a thread adaptor and then just a generic telescopic pole. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-stock-1-4-Thread-Tripod-Mount-Adapter-Base-to-Monopod-for-GoPro-Hero-HD-2-3-/261552420489?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3ce5bd3689 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Adjustable-Handy-Self-Portrait-Extender-Pole-Arm-Monopod-For-Digital-Film-Camera-/310868913088?pt=UK_Tripods_Monopods&hash=item48613b2bc0 Great for action sports or when under water etc.
Pimm
As for a pole cam, I made my own. I got a telescopic paint roller, unscrew the metal end bit and using your gopro clamps stuck it on the end. I got mine in Makro for £3.99 comes in black with a rubber handle, used it for skiing and its perfect. Link below is of a similar product. http://www.screwfix....-pole-2m/12639# http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DECORATORS-TELESCOPIC-PAINTING-ROLLER-Adjustable-Handle-9-Sleeves-Soft-Grip-DIY-/390842546587?pt=UK_DIY_Material_Paint_Varnish_MJ&hash=item5b0007f99b Edited August 11, 2014 by Pimm

Do they feel nice and secure? Must admit it's gonna feel weird sticking a decent gadget on a pole and dangling out a moving car or boat! Nice bit of lateral thinking on the telescopic paint roller
Pimm
On the end of the roller I did put another scew at the end of the pole for peace of mind, used this many times. I added a gopro sticker at the handle end so on all films of yourself you get that genuine feel/look.
