giggsyson
Hi guys Im hoping someone can help me out / point me in the right direction. Basically i need to reprogramme my key to my car, however, ive tried the sequence over and over, ive looked on the net (and here) and ive tried everything to get this to work. Im now at the point (months down the line) where i literally cant stand to try any longer. Its clear im not going to get it to work for me or any of my mates who are handy with cars. Ive had the car in three seperate local garages who have all failed to programme my key. My car is now up for sale and i really would like this solved as i cant expect to sell my car when the alarm goes off everytime i unlock it. Do i have to go to nissan? A informal chat to a guy who works there said i will probably have to pay a silly amount for them to look at it. Could there be any other issues with the car that im not aware of that may be preventing me from reprogramming my key? Please please help because im literally at a loss

Toon Chris
What did the garages say to you when they couldn't programme the car (its the car that is programmed to accept the key, not the key programmed to work with the car)? Did they say the key wasn't transmitting?
WhackyWill
Believe only Nissan can do it as Flex said.
giggsyson
Cheers guys Only nissan? Thats what i was afraid of @toonchris I am going to sound like an amateur here but i never really pressed them further once they said they couldnt do it, i kinda just thought maybe they didnt have the right equipment or something. It wasnt until this week when i was told the same thing again that i started to fear it may be more costly than i thought. What if i got a brand new key? Ive saw on the internet people programming 'blank keys'. Would that be an alternative? I fear nissan are going to ruin my day ha
Guest
Don't be tooooo frightened re trying a main dealer maybe, at least they know the car. I had no 2nd key on purchase, bought a fob, had a spare cut on the high st & not trusting myself with the sequence dance in case both went wrong, got the dealer to do this part only, charged me £35 for 15 mins labour. Well worth it as at least you know they'd put it right if it wrong.
cmck13
I only had one key so as above I bought a spare blank key and fob, took it to a local key man in Lincoln specialising in cutting and re-programming and no problems. You haven't said where your from but I would try it this way if you can, your Nissan dealer will do it but at a price and if times running out you may have to do it this way.
