badCOK
Hi guys, going to be fitting my Ark Exhaust in the next week or so. Looking to spray the bolts the day before to make the job slightly easier. What Penetrating Sprays have people used? or recommend? Paul
GMballistic
WD40. If you're doing it yourself though it may be an idea to have a blowtorch handy as sometimes it helps to add some heat to stubborn bolts.
jumping350
If they have not been undone before I would get it on a ramp or bung a garage £20 to loosen everything you need, then go home and change the exhaust yourself, after almost blow torching my face off I would suggest that Edited July 31, 2014 by jumping350
marzman
WD40 isnt a penetrating fluid. Halfords have stopped selling Plus Gas, so i recently just used their off the shelf 3 in 1 penetrating spray. Sprayed on and on the same day the nuts wouldnt move, but seven days later they came straight off. With the Zed exhaust though you might be lucky to remove some of the bolts without cutting them out with a torch.
Martinjj
WD40 do have a penetrating product that is specifically for busting tight nuts Don't know how good it is though, http://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-fluids/lubricating-penetrating-oil/wd-40-specialist-fast-release-penetrant-250ml the OP has actually asked a question that i had in mind to put forward at sometime so would be interesting to see if anyone has used this particular product.. Tricky-Ricky
Just have an angle grinder handy, then you can just cut the really stubborn bolts/nuts.
Ekona
PlusGas or nothing. WD40 is like the Duplo brick of stuff that frees stuff, PlusGas is like the Technic expert set.
Ricey
WD40 is awesome for almost every job except the one that most people buy it for! Freeing up nuts. Great for cleaning an engine bay!

badCOK
Just an update.... Used the Plus gas stuff, worked a dream. Literally sprayed it on 5 mins before having a go at the bolts, which were seriously corroded.... So glad i bought the stuff!
