J45on
Hi, my 350z is boiling up. I don't mean alittle when driving hard or sitting in traffic. Drive 2miles and he's maxing the clock. I checked the temperature stat and it's opening ok. Thinking it could be the water pump?? Does the water pump go in 350z's. I have a 2003 z with 46k miles. Thanks in advance for any info and guidance.
ZMANALEX
May be a water pump failure, however more information required. Have you checked that both your coolant fans are working as they should ? Alex.
J45on
Yes heard about these cooling fans. Are they both at my radiator??
Tricky-Ricky
Yes both fans are in the rad cowel, if its overheating after only two miles from cold then it sounds like a more serious problem to me, as it shouldn't be that hot after that sort of distance. hensh65
Could be the fans as its a common problem. Mine was overheating with snow on the bonnet
J45on
Tricky Ricky. U mean more serious than water pump??
Lexx
Stop panicking about how serious it could be. Start simple and work up from there. Go and see if both your cooling fans are working. Its 30º in most of the country today so if they're both kaput you're gonna overheat quickly.
J45on
Because I had the air flow meter off i now have engine management light on. What's the easy fix?
ZMANALEX
Providing you have not done any damage, I would try the resets first which you will find in the guides section. However might be a plan to pull the fault codes to see what you are up against. Alex.
J45on
Started her up and both fans came on when I turn ac on and when she got upto normal running temp. I have no hot/warm air available inside the car ....?
ZMANALEX
If you are sure that the stat is okay, then bleed the coolant system. as you will possibly have an air lock The procedure is in the guides section. Alex

Tricky-Ricky
As said sounds like an air lock problem, have you recently drained any part of the cooling system? However can you elaborate on the accuracy of the two mile drive from cold and the coolant temp is on max? air locks often result in a cold reading on the gauge as if there is air around the sensor it will read cold.
