WoREoD
Thought some of you might be interested in an update ....... Have now done just over 1,000 miles on my new engine. I've limited my revs and everything seems fine. In Nissan terms I had: complete bare engine, new flywheel and clutch thrust bearing. Oil was checked on delivery, after one week and today and looks clear and golden at the full mark. Car itself was strange at first. I think the immersion and then standing for three weeks had affected disks and pads and possibly clutch, but brakes seem fine now. Its going back to the dealer for a fluid levels check on Wednesday plus I'll ask them to look at the following: 1) On overrun, at lowish revs, car seems to judder slightly (clutch?) 2) After standing, there is a musty smell on start up (blocked aircon drain pipe?) 3) Nearside headlight washer doesnt retract fully (result of bumper removal and refit?) Cheers everyone who's asked! JK
Trev-the-Rev
Pleased to hear that things are going smoothly - you always have a little nagging doubt when a job of that magnitude is carried out. It also appears that it doesn't have an appetite for oil. Mine used about 0.5 ltr in the first 1000 miles.
