hi guys,

just got the car back from jez @ h-dev after getting him to diagnose what my problem is. He is certain it is a timing issue but cant define what. Its not the crank shaft sensor or cam shaft as he checked both of these.

the car has a poor idle but drives fine, no power loss.

does any body have any idea what it could be? getting a bit fed up with this car now..

thanks

its defintely a timing issue.

heres what i know

timing is 17% retarded on bank 1

checked fly wheel, crank shaft sensor and cam shaft sensors (made no difference)

error codes p0300 and p011

waterpump and thermostat were changed 2 days before light came on, been on ever since

could there be an issue with the tensioner??

I would say that they have allowed the chain to drop off the crank sprocket during the water pump change, but in theory it should affect both stets of cams.

earthing issue???

more detail please?

just with it being on tick over. A bad earth can cause some irregularities. As the revs build there is more current so less of an issue. May be worth seeing if a grounding kit helps.

Just a thought
