longsh07
Just a quick one, I need to repair a piece of brake pipe on my MX5 and just wanted confirmation from any brake experts on the 'correct' way to join the old section to the new section. My understanding (thanks google) is that joining a male union to a female union would work but it is not recommend because the pipe is designed to crush against a union rather than against another bit of pipe to make a proper seal? I've made brake lines before on my old 106 so I'm confident with flaring the pipe and fitting the unions etc and I have joined pipe before using a female to female joiner as it was the only thing I had to hand. This time I have both a female to female and male and female unions. So basically: Male union > female Union = bad? Male union > female to female joiner > male union = Good? Female union > male to male joiner > female union = Good? Correct? Cheers.
