Post boosting or just being friendly?

We all welcome newbies when we can and it's one of the great things about this forum.

 

Just some times it grates on me when you search the new content and all you see for the first few pages are newbie welcomes from the same person.

 

Some of the "newbies" being welcomed have joined weeks ago if not months ago in some cases.

 

What are peoples opinions on this ~ are some people just trying to be friendly or simply post boosting just to give themselves a ridiculously high post count whilst contributing not a lot really more than a welcome wave.

I think it's nice that people make the effort to say hello. I could probably do so some more, if I'm honest.

Not been on for awhile so I did loads earlier, how on earth can welcoming someone be a bad thing

If I have time I like to welcome new owners. It lets them know how friendly we are. On some other forums it doesnt happen.

In fact if you look at my many welcomes earlier, several recieved likes from the OP and several also recieved other welcomes after mine
