GT Driver
hi folks, Had the Zed up on a ramp today to identify an annoying rattle at idle. I've identified to the driver's side catalytic converter or surrounding area. Symptoms: > Rattle is only audible at fully warmed idle (with air con off) > Switching on air con to boost idle seems to reduce or completely eliminate the rattle > Car is running fine otherwise with no warning lights etc. Car is 2005 with 75k miles and on original cat afaik. Without removing the heat shield, mechanic is saying that there is possibly a piece may have broken off inside the Cat itself causing the noise. We both used a long pry bar to move the heat shield to see if this was the cause but we couldn't eliminate the noise by doing this. Video with sound: Any input on what it might be is much appreciated

PageyUK
It's a process of elimination really pal. Put a metal bar on the cat and the other end on your ear and see if it is coming from there. Otherwise, remove the cat and check it....
