cmr1991
Does anybody have an previous experience in importing a car into the UK? I have been after a Porsche 356 for several moons, and the UK market is not the best, rare as rocking horse turd, and prices are inflated. I am mainly after a project 356, can get complete rust buckets here in the UK for roughly 15k with matching engine and chassis numbers, It takes approx a further 40-50K to restore to a complete gem. HOWEVER, Looking at the US market, they are more common over there and prices are still relatively low, for the 15k in the US I can buy a matching numbers part resorted car with full referbed engine (the same in the US would cost around 25k+) Only issue is obviously the LHD and different needs to make it UK registered with lights etc etc.. Does anyone have experience importing from a different country, any car at all. Is it a major ball ache with acres of trees to fill out? regards

Lexx
Speak to Jurgen at JM Imports. Although he's predominantly a JDM importer he has been know to source and ship US cars for customers here. He'd be able to help/advise.
