We'll be at the Ring :)

Any tips from the Guru's? It's our first time

Self imposed rules so far are:

1. Lap times are inconsequential and are quite out of the question

2. Everyone will be faster than me - so don't try B)

Any others?

(Besides take loads of pics!)

Just enjoy it mate went with brother last year, really dont try and race on it just experienc the track as it is every corner every dip every angle, you will be blown away by it anyway. Do not follow anyone elses race line either as they may or may not know the track better and may have a different driving style that may cause you to crash. And if you crash you best have a credit card handy cos you pay for everything, from damages on the track to moving your car outside the ring and closing the ring buisness loss. :scare: Its quite scary.

On the drive up there you will have a blast be careful off some police in certain places, some are more strictor than the traffic police over here :scare:

Just whatever you do enjoy it, get a sticker of the course and stick it on your rear bumper and come back safe and with the feeling that you have achieve something.

Drive safe pal

If you are going to take it easy - and I suggest you do. (apparently some reccomend 40 laps to learn the track before attempting anything brave), keep right, with right hand indicator on.

Always keep one eye on the rear view mirror, as cars that are out for lap times will appear out of nowhere, litteraly nothing in sight one moment and next bend you can find one on your arse.

If you are taking it slow, dont take the racing line on corners with traffic coming from behind.

As it is classed as a public road, not specifically a track, if you are slower and on the left and you get hit from behind, then it is YOUR fault.

A great tip I was given when there for the first time was to go out just before closing time - its a lot quieter.

I was in two minds whether to go round at all before getting there, but after one lap my nerves were calmed.

If you can find a friendly face then you could blag a passenger lap with someone just to get an idea of the track.

Above all, just have fun :teeth:

as chesterfield said really but watch out the motorbikes on the cornors as they tend to set under your view.

just enjoy use your mirrors move over for faster traffic, one hell of a track one of the best things you will ever do and you will return.

plenty of english guys out there and the roads on the up towards it are sweet similar to wales much smoother and best time of your life get in a convey and get it on

Enjoy the exotic cars driving on the ring!

I've seen many nice cars there on the parking and driving the track. Think of Audi R8's, all lambo's, ferrari F50, 360's, 430's, a 599, Donkervoorts, etc.

I personally don't like the track experience of the ring too much. Maybe it is better to wait till almost closing time. I went once for 2 sessions and the ring was full of busses(!), very slow or very fast motorbikes, old people with a 911 who never went faster than 80 mph.

For me it's better to go to an organised track day where all people know what they're doing (or pretend to).
