WhackyWill
Not sure they will make that stick as they completed the race, it was Red Flagged and then re-started for the last 20 mins so they did complete the whole 4 hours Just like any other red flag,
WhackyWill
They've not charged him though, have they? Not sure if they have charged him yet, maybe waiting for psycho reports as only a "nutter" would do that.

Ewen@Clark Motorsport
Definitely agree with you there Graham, when I think about someone trying to do that at Knockhill for instance its not possible short of someone smashing through a gate or fence. If you watch the whole video you can see he enters the pit lane from the recovery truck zone, during an endurance race it is common for recovery trucks to enter the circuit under full course yellows and safety car. The recovery trucks have to be able to access the track quickly to minimise the time of disruption. To get into the pit area at Brands hatch you have to enter via a tunnel which has an attendant on. When short race events are running only competitors and pit crew get access through the tunnel, obviously there has been an issue at this point. Once through the tunnel if you are determined to get on the track there is little to stop you. I have a lot of contacts in Motorsport and I am reliably informed he will be getting some justice one way or another. This d***head has upset a lot of very rich influential people and will pay the penalty one way or another.

Jetpilot
Some refreshing news: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/11235609/Brands-Hatch-gatecrasher-jailed-over-track-dare.html Hope he leaves prison well and truly "stretched out" round the back
-Bradders-
Glad he's got a prison sentence ashamed at our countries system as i'm sure i've seen people with alot more violent crimes get less time behind bars.
brillomaster
well im a bit on the fence on this one.... while he is a class A plonker and does indeed deserve a punishment, i actually think 8 months in prison is a little harsh... something like 1000 hours community service, driving ban and fine would be more applicable... jail time i normally associate with violent criminals. Lexx
That sentence highlights precisely what is wrong with the UK judicial system.

I wouldnt disagree in theory, but in principal and the fact its quite a unique scenario they perhaps had no choice but to make an example and attempt to stop others than trying such things by giving out a custodial sentence. By all accounts there were a lot of comments on social media massaging his ego about how cool he was, big up, respect and all of that nonsense from loads of other such tards. He was also quoted as saying he could not give a "f" when arrested. An even playing field It Is not, sadly, but without a major change in sentencing laws, bigger prisons etc nothing is going to change. Bockaaarck
Hey may well already have a series of previous warnings / convictions, that may have had an impact on sentencing, Primarily however, it will have been ignoring the pleas of his girlfriend to stop the car. Thereby forcing her as an unwilling 'partner' in enterprise against her will. The risk of danger to life of not only his girlfriend and his other passenger but those of the competitors in the race. He got everything he deserved , sadly I don't think this will resolve future difficulties he may present in the future. The reality is he probably comes from a home life which is unstable, with poor parenting examples and with little opportunity. It's unfortunate that youngsters like this, because they feel they have no opportunity, nothing to aim for, often run off the rails. There is little appetite for funding for specialist schemes to seize this youngsters in the early days, provide opportunity and turn them around. As it is he will probably end up being a burden to society and a very unhappy individual, which i think is a waste and rather sad
marzman
I disagree, i think that is a perfectly fair sentence. 8 months is nothing, and he'll be out in 4, or less. The danger of this individual is his complete lack of judgement, and the 'premeditated' nature of what he did. The difference with violent crimes being referred to, in my opinion, is that these are all subjective. They can be instant, emotionally charged reactions, where alcohol is often involved, which i think can go some way to explaining the leniency. Compare that against a premeditated attack on someone and the sentence will undoubtedly be longer.
