Rachaelclaire
For those of you that saw my last post about my boyfriends 350 just coming to a rolling stop, we've had it looked at and stripped down from bottom end.... Turns out a piston has pretty much shattered into the sump and the valve was wedged in the crank, hence not being able to crank by hand! So now were after a new engine please?! '53 model, obviously in working order! Or anyone know where we can get one at a decent price?! Please and thanks!

Neilp
This is a common fault from using low octane "normal" unleaded fuel in these cars.

Ricey
Here's what's left of the piston! The conrod was peeking out of his cage as well. Well and truly shat itself!

GMballistic
I shall ask him thanks! And nope always use either shell v power or esso supreme fuel, nothing else Maybe so but unless you where the original, bought from the dealer, first owner then you have no idea what rubbish fuel the previous owners had been using. Good luck. Hope you get it sorted quickly and without too much hassle/expenditure.

PageyUK
Out of interest, how much would you be looking at for a DE engine? Mine's fine but would like to know should that day arrive. Sorry to hear about your engine. Good luck getting the replacement fitted! Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Ricey
That is epic That piston in bits Our mechanic said he's seen that maybe twice in his life. Utterly shattered to bits and the conrod was peeking out too! I can also confirm that pushing the zed up an incline is bloody hard work!
