Speakers - Focals or Hertz?

Grundy

Recommended Posts

So figured next Month I'd take a brake from spending lots on the Zed

So want to change the audio setup.

As the Title suggests, which is better or do you prefer?

I'm not after Coax's full of bass as I have a 12" 3000w sub going in.

Looking for a Nice clear crisp speaker.

Was looking at these.

Reading through a few posts I'm under the impression to just got Coax all round? Or do I need components/Tweets up front?

Will then be going 4 Channel AMP as well.

Cheers

I bought these little chaps for my VX http://www.caraudiod...egration-isc165 not the ones you listed, different car (which is renowned for not being the most acoustic) but the sound quality was excellent. I actually had some JL speakers in before those, one went bang so replaced with Focal and have to say preferred the Focal over JL.

Never tried Hertz except when renting a car.

Hertz owned by Morel (Morel in the process of going in my car). Focal are highly rated also.

Both manufacturers would be a good investment.

Here's my Morel speakers going in. Along with many other bits which I'll update in my thread later.

I'd go components just for the fact of staging.

But it all depends on what you use the car for, if it includes daily driving I'd go components. If not go coaxial.

Wait till you see how far the audio will go in my zed :ninja:

Be tempted to go with this setup then...

Fronts

Rears

These are cheaper and I like the look of these better

Or these

Just need a Amp now. Does a 4 Channel still work with the components?

Yes you can run components of 2 channels. Are you going for a sub also? I would definitely go for components up front. The oem speaker grill covers about a third of the speaker in the door so a separate tweeter will work better.

you cant run components up front, coax in back and a sub from a 4 channel amp i dont think?

As I'm a believer of not upgrading the rears if I were to do them I'd run them of the headunit then you could use 2 channels bridged for the sub. You could go with 2 amps but depends on budget.

Okay....This is my planned setup...

Rears - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/hertz-hi-energy-hcx-165-4

Fronts - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/speakers/component-systems/6-5-inch-comp-17cm/hertz-energy-esk-165-5

4 Chan AMP - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/amplifiers/multi-channel-amps/pioneer-gm-d8604-4-channel-1200w-class-d-car-amp

I already have a 12" Sub, with a Seperate AMP for the Sub.

How does that Setup look?

Are there any issue, Is running 2 Amps an issue?

Personally I really wouldn't spend that much on the rears and put the money towards a better amp. I ran 2 amps fine in the 350Z, my celica is struggling with the same setup though, either the battery or alternator is struggling.

How about sticking with Hertz and something like this...

What would be the pro's in doing this idea?

Surly replacing all Bose speakers would be better than 2?

Sorry, just Amps is my weakness in knowledge when it comes to creating an audio setup
