Bose left speaker cutting out problem. Hows this?

I want to replace the headunit for 2 reasons.

1. the left speaker intermittantly fades when playing CD's

2. It looks so old fashioned and who needs a tape deck?

I am wondering if this will allow a new aftermarket doubledin headunit to use the on board BOSE amplifier, sub behind the seat etc?

the speaker issue is repairable with a fix guide here on the forum

I did see the guide... It looks like alot of work just to get it working with CD's. I need a stereo that will playback MP3's from USB really.

I am just hoping I can buy a kit that allows an aftermarket stereo to use the Bose amp.

have you seen the guide for aftermarket HUs. What's needed etc etc

Yes, I had a good read and I couldnt find any mention of the bose amp working with (actually being used with) an aftermarket stereo.

I got a reply from that seller saying that is does work with his kit.

After doing some research on current stereo's I think I might wait...

Clarion and Sony are bringing out Andriod double din devices this year. This is well worth waiting for IMO! I have refrained from buying a cheap Chinese one off ebay thus far.
