parello9
Wheels have arrived. First impressions very pleased, can't wait to get some tyres on. Quick test fit before tyres. " http:// Only prob is they haven't come with any hub rings, I guess they are needed? @ OP Nice wheels @Grundy - Look someone who checks the fitment first - Take Notes Don't speak to soon he hasn't got the fronts on yet
Harro
Had a few deliveries over the last few days. http:// Spigot rings, reflectors and springs, might have a go at the rears tonight.
Harro
Had a bash at the rears, pretty straight forward. "]http:// Looks more of a drop than quoted, but will have to see when fitted. http:// Measured before and after, sits about 10mm lower at the moment. Will check again after it's settled. Will have a crack at the fronts at the weekend. Also ordered new Cobra exhaust yesterday with Cougar Store. Rang them up, great helpful service, if you read this Mitz thanks alot...... that is if it arrives ok...

GMballistic
Look's great. Definitely worth getting the alignment done as Almeida says and the suspension will probably settle a little lower eventually.

Harro
suspension will probably settle a little lower eventually. Yeah will see how it goes, like I've said before, doing basic at a price. Could change later on....

Could change later on.... They are the same springs I'm probably going to get one day ~ don't want to go too low as the speed bumps are a nightmare locally plus I think coilovers are a bit over kill for me. Be interested to see what they level out at.
pjf1985
Looking great mate! Loving the wheels, and its sitting nicely now. Think I'm going with the Tein's at some point
Harro
Well had a grueller today, car fought me at every turn, but front springs are on. Couldn't shift either nut that holds the brake pipe to the shock. In the end had to change the springs with the shocks still in the wheel arch. "]http:// Bit tricky but all done New exhaust arrived yesterday so set about stripping the old one. Got it off, had to hacksaw the nuts off. Just left with the bolts stuck in the Y section. They seem well rusted in, called it a day, will have a bash tomorrow.
Jp606
Looking good I always find a bit of Plus Gas Releasing Fluid helps on seized nuts and bolts, touch wood I haven't had one snap or get stuck yet using this it really does work. Make sure you have a geometry set up for the new springs, my alignment was massively out after fitting.

Yeah just tried the usual WD, started to round off the nut and bend the bracket. Ah well, all done, as long as I don't want to go lower Got exhaust on, went for non res, loving the burble when given a blip of throttle. Harro
Well got the fronts on now, was gonna have to wait another two weeks for my local tyre place to get KU39s I wanted. Had a look on Tyreleader last week, in stock, arrived yesterday and about £40 cheaper per tyre. Had a mobile tyre fitter, Hometyre, come today at work to fit them. Would recommend. Bit pricy but took good care of wheels and saves time lugging wheels around. Saved cash as well, think I'll be getting all future tyres online. Couple of pics "]http:// http:// http:// Very pleased with the fitment, after reading another thread on the site I was slightly worried. Had the wheels on before without tyres but hard to tell how it would look. If interested, fronts are 19x9 ET30, rears are 19x10.5 ET20. That's probably it for now with the mods. Insurance company has an admin fee for any alterations/mods. Will probably look into buying stuff when I can and fitting it all at once to avoid multiple admin fees. Need to do something with the back bumper, diffuser maybe. But happy with mods so far..........

Harro
Taking some hols from work so on with the mods. Had a slight squeal from the brakes and wasn't really impressed with the braking performance so ordered a full set of Mtec discs and Mintex pads. Also while car is jacked up time to fit clear reflectors. http:// Well brakes are on, fairly straight forward, followed the 'how to' for the fronts, very helpful. Only tricky bit was undoing the rear caliper bolts, suspension arms and handbrake cable made it tight for room. One thing I did notice was that all 4 old inside brake pads where tight to get out, wedged into the caliper and half the thickness of the outside pads . Not sure how that would effect braking. Had to give the calipers a good clean and file to get the new pads to fit and move freely. http:// Happy with the finished job, reflectors on as well. Will see how good the brakes are when bedded in, although not sure how best to do that. Edited August 19, 2014 by Harro

scottiboy
Not normally a massive fan of dark alloys however they look absolutely superb! Sit perfectly on the car and compliment the Brembo's beautifully ..Scotty..

Harro
Well it's been a while since I posted on here, quite happy with the mods to the Zed, so haven't done much else. It's been parked up for winter, so with summer coming time for a check over and MOT. First thing I noticed was a blowing Y pipe. Having read posts regarding replacements I took a chance with an Ebay Japspeed. Given the low mileage the car does and that I'm always thinking about selling, the cheap option made sense. http:// Looking rusty underneath so undersealed at the same time. Tape round the cats is to stop the heat shields rattling. Passed the MOT so time for a good clean and polish. Then noticed this..... http:// Grrrr, rusty rear arch. Not sure what I'm gonna do with this. Is a home fix possible, rust repair, filler and paint, or is it a new panel job? Ah well, forget about that for a minute and go for a drive. Errrmmm, that tyre looks a bit flat only pumped it up last week. Found a leak around the metal valve and peeling paint and the start of corrosion..... http:// Got all four valves replaced with rubber ones and touched up the paint. In the meantime had to fit the Rays.... http:// Car feels better with these on, until it rains. On the rear are the Lassa Impertus tyres that came with the car when I got it. Absolute garbage in the wet, I know why Lassa sponsor drifting. The new valves seem to be holding pressure so will be swapping wheels over soon. Apart from these issues it's good to be driving the Zed.
