wizurd
Hi all :-) I'm trying to fit my weapon R power steering tank but the smaller of the two pipes at the bottom of it is a little thick for the rubber power steering pipe. I'm thinking about replacing both rubber hoses with some silicone ones instead. Does anyone know if i need a certain type of silicone hose since they will be holding power steering fluid and i don't know how this reacts with silicone hoses. Also anyone done this before and if so do you know the exact lengths and diameters i'll need. If not i'll just stop being lazy and measure it up myself. cheers Dan
Greg Warnes
I managed to do it by taking the smaller diameter pipe off the car, heating it up in some hot water then forcing it onto the tank on a bench. It was not easy but has been fine for over a year.
wizurd
Cheers Greg - could always try that.
Greg Warnes
Fairy liquid on the inside of the pipe also helps
wizurd
Yer tried that. The diameter of the pipe on the power steering tank is probably 4 or 5mm more than the stand plastic one.
Ceejay29
How did you get on with this in the end Wizurd....will be tackling it soon
Stutopia
When my tech fitted mine he had some double walled silicone hosing lying about, which was marginally wider and fitted spot on. Might have been SAMCO.
Ceejay29
Yes might order 10/12mm from samco or similar
