addisj
Well, I found 2 for sale. 1. 05 Grand Turismo 4 in black, 77k miles up for 8995 2. 04 Non GT, manual seats, 34k miles up for 8495 The garage owner just gave me the keys for both and said 'go for it. So I did I walked away with out buying either. The body work was a little tatty. Engine bay struts had more rust than clean metal. Wheels were all corroding near where they wheel needs the discs. Lots of corrosion on the block/head, more than you would expect. Looks like she has never been garaged. A few big blobs of touch up paint on the bonnet 'shudder' But.. hardly any dents. straight bodywork, no ripples or big door dents. Interior - imaculate. Bad points; 1. Paintwork is a little tatty and lots of corrosion on engine etc 2. Found a leak in the rear section of the exhaust (under the boot area) 3. Engine light was on (who knows what the problem is here) 4. She was stuttering when flooring it, reminder me of 'safe mode' in my old MR2 turbo 5. Air bag warning light on The SIlver one; 1. The cloth non electric seats 2. Air bag warning light on Apart form that it is really clean and feels well looked after. I just couldnt love it because of the colour and cloth interior. Big difference in sound between the bose and the basic stereos too. (I know you dont buy a car for its stereo but the GT4 having all the toys made the non GT model seem bland inside). Shame as it felt like a 3 year old car. So I know I have to have a GT model now. I am going to hold out until I can find an 04 or 05 plate tin top GT with under 50k miles in either sunset or black. I have driven 3 now so I know what to expect performance wise. I have seen a load go up for sale this week so I am hopeful!
Dean_1983
Can't believe the prices 😳 ... I got an 04 coupe 47k GT silver leather amazing history and not a mark on the car or alloys for just over 6k ... I'd say hold out for the right one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
WhackyWill
Way over priced... :scare: You are in late facelift prices around that figure.. Edited May 13, 2014 by WhackyWill
addisj
It seems trade prices are at least 1.5k over private sales. I guess I need to hold out for a private sale.
Jp606
Hold out for a good example, it's a buyers market and a good example will come along, you can afford to be fussy! Those are both quite overpriced too..
RobPhoboS
Good on you for being patient, it's the ONLY way to purchase a car. Sometimes you're lucky and the first one you try is the one to have (as it was for me) but I still tried a couple more and an RX7 for comparison. Personally, I'd just stick to holding out for one on the forum

brillomaster
sheesh 9k for a 77,000 car with leaking exhaust and engine and airbag warning lights on?!? that's about £3k overpriced, or my car has doubled in value over the last 2 years! its a buyers market, plenty of decent well looked after examples out there for a lot cheaper than £9k... keep looking, these things can take time!
JetSet
GT4's do fetch a premium even if they are a bit tatty, I'd say that one was £1,500 - £2,000 overvalued. Pete

bamdc2
wow sounds like it was a bit of a wasted journey. I even had one car dealer who would only let me look at the Zed they had as he didnt want to move cars on his forecourt to get it out. After about 10 mins of looking he asked if I wanted to buy it! Who buys a car without driving it! hold out for a good one!
