Mattle40
No love for the c63 AMG V8?? I just love it when I'm passed by one of those.. V6 have to be biased and say the Z, or the Alfa brera. V12 has to be another AMG, the pagani zonda sounds amazing!!
sipar69
When I occasionally watch those You Tube vids of various exotic cars starting up I'm always very impressed by the sound of Aston Martins.
brillomaster
my votes would be for mainly racecar engines... an unsilenced Ferrari F458 GT3 car at full chat sounds incredible, also the Lamborghini Murcielago GT1 car is pretty special. for a roadcar though, I love V10s - best of the bunch for me is the Lamborghini Gallardo engine
grahamc
I6 it's a Supra TT and E46 M3 CSL ... Disagree ....Supra Single turbo on a screamer pipe is rather awesome. However the inline 6 on the 240z (all carb'ed up) is fantastic! But the SR20 race engine, is simply the best Edited February 20, 2015 by grahamc
Zeezeebaba
A Rolls Royce merlin is awesome plus any mercedes with a similar sound.
brillomaster
have you heard the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 car? sounds like a Messerschmitt! Corvette race engines make the ground shake when they rumble past... dammit why did the FIA stop GT1 racing?!?!?
Tricky-Ricky
Although for me a well tuned V8 is king, I have to say I am rather partial to a nice 2JZGTE... I am also rather fond of my old Supra...turn up the sound! sorry crap video and sound is out of sink.

billydc2
The Z is a properly nice sounding car Dan regardless of wether we own them or not. That's one of the reasons I bought one I did forget about the NSX though still not enough to take top spot away from le Z sorry Arran, but have to disagree, the zed engine has been one of the most dissappoint sounding engines I've owned. Its not a bad sound, but its a long way from being the best. If I'm honest even with exhausts etc I'd put it as an average sound. Not dull, but doesn't set my heart a light. each to their own but it's the sound of the zed that made me want one. If I didn't hear one scream past me that one day I would be driving a dc5. Which sound cak
Ekona
Stock for stock, I'd say the DC5 sounds better. A few tweaks though, and the V6 sounds better than any four pot ever could.

Daveyboy11
There really is nothing like the sound of a blown V8, beautiful on tick over and absolutely stunning at full chat!

Tricky-Ricky
Unfortunately after four years of building it, and spending more money than I would care to mention, I got bored and fancied a new project, the wife wanted me to keep it. Still one of my biggest regrets though!

Pitch is too high for my liking. I moved to a v8 because I realised what I was missing was the sound of a v8 and the zed in comparison just doesn't do it.
