Benzini
So after having the spray gun and plastidip for 8 months and only doing my rear badges and spoiler I finally got round to doing my wheels I'm pretty happy with how they have come out only took a few hours so not to bad, now I just need to get some new wheel bolts to finish it all off. WhackyWill
They look great Ben, I'm about to do my Sons Golf wheels with Plastdip, what's the best way to do it, ?.
hype
Look great in the photos - good job. What's the finish like up close? And is Plastidip generally hard enough wearing for wheels?
Rocky4510
Good job mate. I've just rattle sprayed the last 2 of my alloys satin black, my problem was putting the wheels back on and taking them off etc.. The inside of the lug nut holes have scraped away some paint and that was with me being extra careful it's probably just where I didn't leave it long enough to dry, did you have this problem with plastidip? Benzini
I spent a lot of time making sure the wheels were very clean then just lent then up at about a 45 degree angle went over them very lightly and between each coat turned the a quarter turn just to get even coverage, the finish is very good although does show up the blemishes and curbing already on the wheel. In regards to putting the lug nuts back on I just went very slowly and carefully and didn't have a problem. I'll keep you updated as to how they wear maybe do a comparison picture in a few months
LRF4N
Nice work. Just did mine on the shed last night and you do get a really good finish. That was me doing it without removing the wheels (masked up the spokes, just painted the lips),not cleaning them properly, not having much light, and rushing them cos I was knackered lol. Even at that all the kerbing is invisible and the finish is good
