Kev946
no it really wasn't his fault, there was a really big story in the manchester evening news about it. Turns out he was going no more than 40. So anyway whens this showdown! Either way, racing a car on public roads is just irresponsible.. 3 years ago Martin Hadland rolled is Escort Cossie on the Gumball at 150 mph. His passenger Lee Manning, who I know, was thrown out of the car. Some of you may have seen the accident on Men & Motors. Whilst Martin is a talented driver, the road conditions go the best of him. Fortunately they survived. Lee was in hospital for 2 months and the last time I saw him he was still walking with a limp.
martinmac
Racing on public roads is playing chicken. Proves very little about cars/drivers. Get on the track where it belongs.

Take 'em on the twisties... To be honest, my opponents will always win as i refuse to fry a £4k clutch to win a race I am curious though to pit it against others as i would struggle to think of any other road car that could beat it once its in gear. Off the line drags are not for the G and its stupidly lightweight clutch 30 mph - 100 mph runs would be very interesting

Off the line drags are not for the G and its stupidly lightweight clutch This would smoke your car Sarnie. (Martin Hadland's own car. Since he totalled it a few years ago in Morocco in the Gumball he's built a complete new one which is even more extreme. The engine spec is quite secret.) http://www.reyland.co.uk/projects/Reyla ... /index.htm I believe his latest engine is now Dyno'd at over 700 bhp. I also have to mention Steve Scott's Ex Carlos Sainz WRC Escort. I've been on track when he was out in this and it was miles quicker than anything I've ever seen at Donington by a long way. He came into the pits when I was wiaiting to go out and his brakes caught fire becasue he was pushing so hard and obviously didn't do enough colling down laps. Awsome car. He's currently running 600 bhp and has contended the last 2 years in the British Ford Saloon Car Championship. Steve is an ex Rally Car driver and runs A1 Rally Sport at Sandy Nr Bedford. The clutch would still be in one piece as the front wheels scrabble to place the 140bhp onto the tarmac. The Lambo would have a £3k service! Kev946
Steve Scott did a 0-60 time of 2.99 seconds at Trax in his Escort a few years ago. Not sure if he's beat it since.

D4V3 GT4
I think the point is being lost here somewhere, Sarnies Lambo is much about looks than performance, there a plenty of sheds caged out that would beat it. But it's a Lambo and it's f**kin beautiful....... the end. (when's my turn for a raz then Sarnie?)
