Mike1989
Right guys, when I start the car up the dial on the oil pressure gauge shoots right to the end. If I leave it running for a few minutes it comes down to 3\4 of the way but as soon as I drive it goes off the reading again. Any input welcome
Vlad
Have you checked your oil level when car is cold and on flat surface?
Mike1989
Yes mate, oil level is spot on!
Vlad
Have a search on here, someone had a similar problem mate. Sometimes it's just dodgy pressure sensor (one just came up for sale in "for sale section) or faulty gauge. I'm sure more experienced people will be on here shortly to give better advice fingers crossed its nothing major!
Daryl
Out of interest, can you swap the oil pressure gauge, with an oil temp gauge?
Vlad
you can put aftermarket oil temp gauge in that location... but you will also need sandwich plate on your sump/filter to put sensor in
Daryl
Ah ok, so you cant use the original position and just put a different sender or gauge in
shire350Z
Gauge is still for sale if you need it cheers vlad
Vlad
Ah ok, so you cant use the original position and just put a different sender or gauge in Don't think so...as far as I remember - sensor for oil temp is bigger(actual thread bit)
