zeek
Is there any difference at all between the GT and GT edition, apart from the graphic on the side? Also is the new GT any different to the base Z in term of suspension, and manual transmission? The GT edition was advertised as having smoother suspensions, and the latest Nissan brochure seems to have added the synchro rev control to the base Z. Cake
GT and GT edition differences are the side decal, wheels and sound deadening I believe. Also GT edition only comes in white or black. Unsure on the new base model but at least they have changed the alloys as I wasn't a fan of the standard 18s.
sipar69
My understanding is: GT Edition Retuned dampers Increased noise insulation Dark 19inch Rays Reversing camera (not sure if this is now standard on the GT pack - it didn't used to be) I believe if you get the GT pack now you get revised shocks. Other changes in the latest models are red callipers, daytime running lights, revised front-end, redesigned Rays. Two new colours as well - a dark blue and red. Richf
The extra soundproofing on the Edition is noticeable especially on the motorway.
zeek
This doesn't fill me with confidence. I can't find any new GT to test drive, only one GT edition, and I'd hate to realise after taking ownership of the car that the suspension is different from the one I had driven. Nissan's brochure are consistently different from one to another too. The dealer's one add no rev matching on the base car compared to the PDF on the Nissan website, and their long PDF brochure has different pictures and info compared to the short version. That doesn't really help with my OCD Anyone got one of the new GT on the forum? How does suspension and sound insulation compare?
mouthwash
Wasn't the GT Edition available in yellow too? I'm pretty sure I've seen one about here.
Cake
Yellows were ultimate edition and only run for a year these are GT models in yellow with 370z side decals and illuminated door sills.

Wayne370Z
The GT Edition also came in a grey colour and had Sat Nav as standard which the GT at the time didn`t, although, I think it has now.
ioneabee
Wayne - nope no grey for the GT Edition The 40th Anniversary Edition came in a very nice grey called Quartz (and had red interior)
Wayne370Z
When I was getting mine last year I must of studied the web site at least 3 times every day before and whilst waiting for it and thought I had seen it available in grey - but then my memory isn`t what it used to be ... ioneabee
I'm not sure there was a black for the GT Edition (I may be wrong on this one), but definately no grey Just the VERY common white and the much more rare and very desirable Black Rose
Wayne370Z
There was definitely black and that funny "off black colour" and the very nice white ones but I thought there was more than 3, as I say a grey or silver perhaps but then it was over 12 months ago and I struggle to remember 12 minutes ago sometimes .... zeek
GT Edition info is here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/47746-370z-gt-edition-press-release/ I'd really like to know whether the European tuned suspension has been carried onto the current GT. I'm worrying that I will really like the GT edition during the test drive and then order a new GT that will turn out to be less comfortable. Because otherwise I might as well go for a Nismo. Richf
I'm not convinced with regards to comfort that there is a great deal/if any difference between the edition and other models , the changes were made to help high speed stability apparently but I haven't heard that there was much of an issue before

sipar69
If the Nismo is on your list of possibilities DO NOT believe anything you read about the ride being too firm. It's not. I doubt you'll notice much difference between a GT Edition and GT pack in terms of ride comfort but others may be able to confirm.... (Edit) as Colin seems to confirm in his review. zeek
If the Nismo is on your list of possibilities DO NOT believe anything you read about the ride being too firm. It's not. I have already driven the Nismo, but no GT yet. The Nismo suspension was stiff, but it wasn't so much of a problem. The real issue for me was with the damping (or lack of?). The car was bouncing a couple of times over its spring each time I was driving over a bump, especially with this level of stiffness. If felt under damped if I'm correct. Now that wouldn't be so much of a problem with a soft sprung barge, but with firm springs I found this uncomfortable. I'm sure others will disagree with me, and fair enough I'm no specialist. Over than that I loved the car. If I could tune the suspension, I would probably consider one over the GT just for the sound it makes.
