TomLum
Hi all. As some might know I bought and fitted a R35 GTR backbox to my 2004 zed. It looks and sounds awesome but recently after long journeys it starts to get quite boomy at lower speed/ rpm's . This has been apparent for the last few weeks and now I only have to be out for about half an hour un till I notice it loosing it's tone and becoming boomy. Is there an obvious reason for this or do I need to get it up in the air and inspected? Thanks in advance!
tomdotc
How much did it cost? Must have set you back a fair bit?
ZonixX
Tom, I would suggest to inspect the exhaust for even tiniest leaks..I don't see any other reason, why should the tone change after a long journey, the GTR backbox must be able to sustain much hotter and faster flowing exhaust gasses than our naturally aspirated Z's will ever produce Edited April 29, 2014 by ZonixX
TomLum
How much did it cost? Must have set you back a fair bit? I got the exhasut for £50! Then it was just fabrication and fitment so not an expensive mod at all. Tom, I would suggest to inspect the exhaust for even tiniest leaks..I don't see any other reason, why should the tone change after a long journey, the GTR backbox must be able to sustain much hotter and faster flowing exhaust gasses than our naturally aspirated Z's will ever produce I agree and the fabricator commented on the supierior build quality in comparison to the 350z back boxe. Just strange that it becoms boomy when its been ran for a while? Will have to get it up and inspected
