Toon Chris
Through Kitchen window, on the bird feeders Greenfinches Chaffinches one Robin Blue tits Great tits (and I thing a coal tit but it flew off to quickly) an entire posse of Goldfinches a Blackbird some Starlings a lesser-spotted Woodpecker a pair of Redpolls A female red squirrel Strangely the sparrows have not arrived yet but maybe it's too early. There are so many I like to try and identify them. My other half calls them either 'brown' or 'budgies' This is a pretty standard day but still great to see. I guess they like the food on offer! steve916
Wow, that's a lot of birds I've just been watching collared doves building a nest in conifers, blackbirds nesting in hazelnut tree, goldfinches on feeders, bluetits nesting in box on house, and sparrows and starlings on feeder. We had 22 goldfinches on the one feeder once. Haven't seen that many since.
Toon Chris
Forgot the Nuthatch. Its all very well them feeding their greedy beaks, they don't seem to like the nesting boxes so when full they all bugger off!
Ian
Anyone else thought that this would be a completely different type of bird?

Similar to what I get here, except I don't get sparrows, other than hedge sparrows or starlings and Redpolls only visit in Late March. Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers are very rare, we get the Great Spotted variety here most days. In addition your birds we also have a pair of Willow Tits, plus a good assortment of Magpies, Jays, Crows, Jackdaws, Collared Doves, Wood Pigeons and the odd Thrush. No Red Squirrels around here but plenty of greys including one that only has one arm. There are other birds present that don't come to the feeders, Goldcrests, Spotted Flycatchers, Wrens, Treecreepers and there's a number of small birds I've yet to identify...warblers of some type for sure though. Most interesting thing I've ever seen was a Polecat, one about 6 years ago and another 3 years ago....even the large cat we had then backed away . Fodder
Great lists gents. We get quite a few however i can only just tell a magpie from a robin I should really buy a spotters book and try to identify as we get all kinds of interesting feathered friends. We are bordered by agricultural land so we get some interesting spots from frogs, toads and newts Oh and bl00dy Mosquitos Edited April 28, 2014 by Fodder
