Spatt
Hi boys and girls. I wanted to upgrade my single din Kenwood for one of these posh looking double din units. I dont have a price range (as i have absoluitly know idea what these cost) i dont mind if its touch screen or buttons and i dont mind what brand it is (Although not a fan of Kenwood) as i dont get along with mine My car has the sub behind the seat (Dont know if this will matter as i assume these good head units should have settings for a sub) I have an IPOD classic which i would like to be able to use with my new head unit (Search through folders ect) I would also finaly like to be able to take a call in the car using Hands free. So..... pics please of what settups you guys have and some advice on gettin a new one. I will be getting a car audio specialist to install this for me as i dont know crap from grease when it comes to wires haha Thanks, Matt
14N
Certainly do-able mate. You'll need a Bluetooth HU so you can make and receive calls an output for your iPod, either on the front for convenience, or the rear (but you'll then need to route the cable). You may need the 2 double din brackets that hold the HU in place if these have been removed. You won't need a huge budget, but on the other hand, you could spend LOTS. My (non touchscreen) Alpine HU was £140, has Bluetooth and a USB port on the front so can play music from a storage device such as a memory stick or iPod. As it's BT, you can also stream music from your phone. You may also need an additional loom for the steering wheel controls (if you have them) and a facia surround. Plenty of guides on fitting a HU on here and on the interweb.
Spatt
Hmm thanks for the advice.. may take a look at yours next time we meet? I have no controls on the wheel so no need to consider compatability with that. Can you adjust the background colour on your head unit? I have decided that this is impotants to me
iwanprice12
I have bought a Pioneer 2500BT...touch screen & compatible with iphone, ipod etc. bought it on ebay for under £200, although the facsia kit & steering wheel control loom cost an extra £70! Good quality IMO, but depends on what you're looking for. oh, and the option to change the colour of the screen is possible as well! 😉 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Came to me as brand new in anycase!

Briggsybriggs1
The only thing I don't like is the front USB port . Some off the higher models have ones on the back with a cable on so you can run it in to your car and hide the wire. But every bin is spot on for the price. I got my HU from a shop in Manchester for a good price Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
