nowhereboy
My brakes are squeaking like mad and it's doing my head in! I've had new pads all round and the brake pipes have all been replaced to get it through the MOT. It was squeaking before this and still has the problem now. Car passed it's MOT no problem tho, any ideas what could be causing this?
gsexr
You may need to remove the pads and chamfer the edges. They are probably squeaking against the lip on the edge of the disc

brillomaster
do the new pads have either anti squeal shims, or a bit of copper grease on the back of the pads? what pads have you gone for, some are squeaker than others, maybe just need a decent bedding in? nowhereboy
It was squeaking before the pads got changed so I doubt it's down to them. It comes and goes, it will go days without doing it then randomly start again. It's not a major issue but it's pretty irritating.
BulletMagnet
As Brillomaster said, have the new pads been bedded in properly? If not...process begins at about 12 mins in
WhackyWill
A bit of spirited driving in town, when they get hot they squeal like a stuffed pig..!!
Almeida1234
You need anti squealing shims 24 pounds a set from Clark motorsports
coldel
Shims will fix it - order some well worth the money. Also bedding in and copper grease.
Ewen@Clark Motorsport
Shims were fitted to the OEM pads so if there is none there now they are a good idea. You also need to make sure everything is properly clean and moving freely, a lot of garages don't spend enough time doing this and noise starts to occur. If its an OEM spec pad you are running then you shouldn't get noise
