tim
I assume it is just a battery problem! Both key fobs do not want to unlock the car sometimes and I get a lock symbol on the dash that looks sad. Am I correct ad us need batteries replacing?? Regards TIM
ChrisS
What year ? Has your car had a recall for the steering lock to be changed. If not have a search, there are a couple of threads about this. (the vin no on the thread will help you find out if it should be)
tatooandy67
Hi tim, had the same issue not long after picking up my 370.... My first thought was oh s#Â¥* after reading about the steering lock issue, as above check on here for up to which vin numbers are affected..I think the affected cars are up to around mid 2010.. Luckily mine turned out to be batteries needed replacing in the fobs very cheap and easy fix, there is a how to thread on here somewhere I would try changing fob batteries first and take it from there good luck
GIXXERUK
When my battery was getting low it showed a pic of a key and battery level indicator on the dash
Ebized
Not sure when your 370 was built but see here in case it is steering lock failure related: http://www.350z-uk.c...-recall-action/ Basically, it was cars with a VIN number UP TO 0300691 and build date UP TO 24th March 2010 that the recall applies to. Otherwise it might be a coincidence that both key fob batteries need replacing, but as said above ^^^ there is is normally a digital warning in the dash to that effect. If the car is still under warranty certainly get it along to a Nissan HPC.
flyboy
When my battery was getting low it showed a pic of a key and battery level indicator on the dash Mine does this even with fresh batteries in the fobs. Some other problem? Mine has had the steering lock done called in and asked Nissan at a service counter and they looked on their database for me. Branded batteries or generic? just changed mine again for 210 mAh generic ones and still the same key shows on dash.. Mine does this but not often, I would say 1 in 20 times but it's ok after and indicates its 75% full ? But as I say it's fine after so I just assume its not read it quite right It still starts and releases the steering lock etc, doesn't cause any issues Edited April 23, 2014 by GIXXERUK
