SHEZZA
Nice one graham for pointing that out. Takes me backs to when my mate had a Mexico in the 90's. Side ways fun! Next week series one land rover which I'm looking forward too as my dad rebuilt one of these when I was a youngster and have a lot of happy memories of that too. GMballistic
Interesting programme and I love how the Escort turned out in the end. Very cool. Not a fan of Phil Glenister though.

Ricey
Wheeler Dealers with a slightly bigger budget and less charisma I thought?
glrnet
Fair comment^ I enjoyed it though, but then I used to work in the SVO plant at Aveley where they built the Rally cars
GIXXERUK
Brilliant stuff, nice to see a proper car getting some love instead of a 2cv ! The wheeler dealers escort is on another forum with a knackered engine and gearbox ! The format of the show needs a bit of work but the end result was great imo 1600 Kent ohv looked and sounded great, superb engine to learn on
Ceejay29
Watched it this morning, gave my old man the heads up as he is currently restoring a lotus twin cam Mk1. Great feature, well worth the watch and I can imagine that it is very nostalgic for many of us on here. Cheers Glrnet
14N
The wheeler dealers escort is on another forum with a knackered engine and gearbox ! Ooo, link please? I really enjoyed this. Although it did take a considerable amount of will power to stop me seeing how much I could get a Mk1 Rscort for on eBay immediately after the show! They sounded awesome! KyleR
I thought it was OK and have it on series link, however, I thought there was too much history of the car/him driving finished examples etc, compared to actual practical work on it. This is where I think WD is a little better (to my taste) because most of the show is showing us the actual restoration and giving us tips on how to do stuff.

I was looking forward to this but got bored after the first 15 mins, too much waffling and other fill in material to stretch the show out. More car please, less about the presenters! gsexr
I agree with the comments on more car info but guess thats because i could just watch all the technical/practical stuff all the time but the general watcher would get bored as it wouldn`t mean much to him. Bit like most of the people behind the scenes making the program. I have the same prob with Emmerdale.....

stanski
its nice to see the classics again but I get the impression there is only so much you can do with that show format?. I like my classics but even I get bored of watching over excited people going on about their cars! I will record the rest of the series because I am a petrol head from age 4.... Did you see Classic Car Restoration on Channel 5 ! I watch it because I love the cars but I hate pinky and perky on it plus the other mechanics they are trying to get involved! Its such dramatic panto! Especially the over tanned very camp Fiat 500 owners club bod- oooh Matron! http://www.channel5.com/shows/classic-car-rescue/the-cars/fiat-
