rogerxp
...a barely used OEM full exhaust for a 370Z or a used Stillen Exhaust system? The OEM exhaust has round 5,000 miles on it and the Stillen more like 15,000. If you remember I've had problems with my Stillen so has rusting on the tips and on some of the welds underneath. I'm about to trade in the Zed after 3 very happy years ownership and not sure whether to just send it off with the Stillen still attached or swap it back to stock and try to sell the Stillen. I should point out that, whilst there's rust issues, the Stillen still does exactly what it should do. A bit of TLC on the tips will see a great improvement. Thoughts anyone. I'm not banking on mega bucks for either but something would be nice to offset the carbon goodies I'm about to order for the new motor! Cheers. hensh65
Given that the oem 370z exhaust is shockingly bad, I would have to say to put that back on the car to trade in
rogerxp
Any thoughts on value for the Stillen? Think eBay is the best choice but can stick on here too.
370Ad
Could be interested in the Stillen. PM me some further details and a ballpark figure mate. Just taken some short tails off as they were too loud for my liking.
Will370z
Definitely keep the stillen and put the stock exhaust back on. You will get good money for the stillen as its an excellent exhaust and i know a number of people on the forum that have been hunting them down. gstraw
I would also be interested in the stillen mate. PM me a price I would out stock exhaust on. No one will buy a stock exhaust but someone will buy the stillen
GIXXERUK
oem exhaust is worth nothing really, no demand and not very good, I would definitely change it over How many miles ? age ? of the stillen, location always helps to save on hassle of p&p sned a price by pm or put it in the "for sale" forum Edited April 14, 2014 by GIXXERUK
sipar69
It's worth checking to see if you can clean up the welds on the Stillen. I'm surprised you've had rust on the tips - not something I experienced on my last Stillen. I like them so much I'm now on my second I paid just shy of £1300 for my latest Stillen. But you have to bear in mind that people can get decent new exhausts for the 370 for £850 (eg Invidia). Therefore, I reckon if the issue with yours is no more than surface oxidation and you were to put some serious work into cleaning it up for sale, you could reasonably ask £600 - £650. rogerxp
Thanks chaps, I've already arranged for it to be taken off first thing tomorrow, so will get it up for sale soon together with some updated photos. A friend runs an ATS so will collect the stock exhaust first thing in his van, I'll follow, get it changed, then he'll drop off the Stillen. I'll then be able to assess the rust and get it up for sale. To save pm'ing everyone I'll flag up when I'm ready to sell it. Soooo busy setting up my new company right now changing cars has been an unwanted chore but finance ending forced a change.
Ebized
A bit of 'elbow grease' should see the Stillen looking respectable again - would make all the difference to the sale price I say that as my Stillen tips and back box still glow very nicely with regular use of Autosol and although the pipes/welds have surface rust a suitable wire brush would help their appearance. No brainer not to put the OEM on if its a trade-in.
sipar69
I agree with Colin. If you're prepared to spend some time and a very small amount of money on products, you'll be surprised at how good you can get it looking. I spent about four hours cleaning my Nismo system ready for selling. It looked nearly new at the end (although to be fair it was nearly new) Edited April 14, 2014 by sipar69

It's actually embarrassing because people probably expect your sporty looking car to sound sporty....then you get in and start it.....
rogerxp
I was really shocked actually. Just shows, when I first put the Stillen on, I nearly took it straight off as it felt so loud, but very quickly I adapted to it and it just gave the car its bark back. Grown so used to it it was quite a shock once it was off. I can't say the rusting has got any worse since the last time I was under the car which is a good things - why they didn't use SS welds I'll never know. I've not got the exhaust back yet, it'll get dropped off my ATS tomorrow probably, so will have a go at cleaning it up and then circulate photos to everyone who's asked
rogerxp
Stillen now off the car and cleaned up - it's not actually as bad a condition as I feared. Decided to place it on eBay as it seems the best route to getting a fair market value. They're few and far between it seems and I've had quite a bit of interested. I'll place it in the classified's section in a mo.... eBay reference ' 171306680035 '
