gstraw
I'm thinking of getting a tracker fitted and seen this one http://www.trackermonitor.co.uk/insurance-approved-trackers/Tracker-locate Anyone got it? I want to also ask the 350z owners too but I can't send to post in the forum general section. Cheers
Ekona
I have, albeit on the 911. Why do you want one? If it's to hopefully get your car back after it's been stolen, then go for it. If it's for any other reason (insurance et al) then I wouldn't bother. £225 does seem very cheap for that (Tracker themselves say £462), but don't forget the annual subscription of £174. For me, that's a cost just too high for a car that's not known for being stolen. The Tracker Cat5 Plus looks similar to the Cobra system I use, as you get a keycard that must be with the vehicle when you're driving, and in theory offers a much better chance of recovery as you'll know exactly when your car has been stolen (they call or text you). More expensive though, for obvious reasons.
stanski
I have looked at trackers recently , as you say its the yearly subscription costs that are the real killer. You can even buy these things on Amazon now for goodness sakes! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tracker-Vehicle-Theft-Protection-System/dp/B009ZCEBOK/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1397195929&sr=8-10&keywords=car+tracker+gps
Stutopia
Can you also geo fence with them now? In case it wanders out of your postcode in the middle of the night, or an enthusiastic garage technician feels the need to "test drive" it when you've left it with them. I think for a price you can have anything you like, the technology is there but it comes at a very very expensive cost. Mind you if you spend £100K on a top end car then £300+ a year after the £1000 kit is probably buttons....
gstraw
My brother in law has one on his m3 and it sends him a text every time the car moves off the driveway. It also uses gps, radio signals and another type of signal which police can trace directly and that transmits out of any shipping containers. GPS will stop once its in a shipping container. Also it lets you see where its been driven- it maps it so if you give to a service garage you know if they have been excessively driving it. There was an attemped car stealing not too far from me and I just got a bit paranoid.

gstraw
Hmm seems like it's not as easy to get permanently installed though. It's £25 a year which ain't bad

Thats way over priced, I got the same one for £65. I hardwired it into the car in about 30 mins.

Fluke
Have you any links to where you got it from? TK104-Pro is the one I have. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item33861fff02 I paid £65, but you can get them cheaper if you get them from outside the UK. I cant fault mine, it uses a standard O2 sim and all the feaures are accessable via an iPhone/Andriod app. I even have mine connected so that I can remotely cut the fuel if the car is pinched. Accuracy is spot on, I have the external GPS and GPRS antenna hidden under the rear cabin brace bar. I have found it to be accurate to within a few metres.
