Dicky
My cars 10yrs old now and as I've mentioned in earlier posts it's due a P2 service. I've had main dealer servicing from new, mainly to get the dealer stamp in case of resale. Anyway I've looked at the P2 action list and most of it is made up of look see and lubrication actions. Changing the oil and filter is a doddle, my air filter's a washable type and greasing actions are a joke. I'm thinking of ditching main dealer servicing now and doing it myself other than the more difficult jobs when I'll pay for just those actions. What are you all doing with your older cars? Grundy
The way I see it, as long as I keep receipts, tracked record (Build thread) as evidence of the work carried out for the new seller, I'm happy
WhackyWill
Take mine to Ross at Japex in Kings Langley..one of the Top Independents on here..
Flex
Own service. Ditch the stealers or get someone you trust, independant. Edited April 8, 2014 by Flex
AMT
Independent or specialist. Or find an Infiniti dealer near you that is willing to do discounts.
GMballistic
Do what I can myself and what I can't or don't want to then I pay good independent garages to do. I don't intend selling my Zed ever! ...but always keep my receipts though just for the memories.
Humpy
Don't go to the stealers, as others have said just find a trust worthy indi garage.

SamN
Mine is 10 years old also. She had full service history until the last one where the previous owner did an oil change. I just ordered everything possible for the service from Clark Motorsport and will do jt myself. I have a receipt for the service history which is fine by me. It may put some people off come sale time but I'm more than capable of doing it so why not in my opinion
Dicky
My dealer quoted £229 but won't be changing plugs or filter only oil and filter as they don't need doing. The more I think on it the more stupid I feel for not looking into this earlier. Like GMballistic I'm not going to sell it so will follow suit and like him do what I fancy doing myself and pay for the other stuff. There may be some milage in main dealer service if you intend selling after a couple of years of ownership but other than that i think it's a waste of money.
Darren350
After a quote of £337 for a P1 (Oil and filter) for my 2004 GT I know that it's now time to ditch Nissan, haha Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
Almeida1234
I buy genuine parts fro clark motorsports with my reg on invoice and get it done independently. Much cheaper then nissan.
350zedd
Would never use a main dealer, only if it was within warranty. Not interested in dealer stamps, as in my opinion they're not worth the ink they're stamped with. My zed is 07 and I do all the servicing myself. I buy quality service packs from dealers on here. Keep the receipts for your records. Trusted independents for jobs I cant tackle myself
neo
My local independent garage charges £100 for a P1 service
Ponsonby
For servicing of my 'toys' I use a local independent garage that specialises in performance cars. Much cheaper than main dealers, always do a good job and 'cherish' the car while it is in. I have proper services done by them because most people looking to buy a performance car want a proper service record, as would I. For the 'family' cars I use another independent that is reliable but cheaper and will stamp the service book even for just an oil change. In this way I can get the stamp for £40-£50 and do the rest of the servicing myself.
choptop
Do your own servicing or get an independent to do it.
richmillions
When looking if a car if it had only been serviced by the owner and not been seen by a specialist/indie for a few years it would put me off. I've no idea how competent they are (buying through a forum would help some of those doubts). I'm capable to do an general maintenance myself but I get mine service by an indie who knows these cars as he is able to spot things that are starting to wear before I will and. cs2000
My car has always been serviced at Nissan, my stamp from Kaizer Motors was the first non-Nissan stamp. At 10 years old, I highly doubt keeping up the dealer service history will net me a full return on the service costs so decided to go with Sly who is probably better than Nissan anyway & a lot cheaper. grahamc
I dont trust Nissan with the GTR, let alone the 350z!!! GTR went to Nissan for optimization service and a few warranty issues, but other than that, it has always been serviced by Sly @Kaizer. grahamc
Do your own, thats part of the fun. Then I would have to trailer the car to Sly, no fun in that
Dicky
Let's start a revelution then. Down with main dealer servicing and their bloody stamps (after the warranty period though! ) Up with independants and getting our hands dirty and the sore backs and the grazed knees and the freezing cold and getting the car up off the ground and the seized nuts and WD40 in the eyes and the wife complaining about the mess. Hmmmmmmm... On the other hand though, what is money, what's it for if not to make life easier and........ooh, think my resolve's failing..... BUT NO ! your all right on the money. Sod it. The day of main dealer servicing is over. Calling them now to cancel my appointment ( I'll say I'm not well, a viral infection I think) UP THE WIMPS ha ha ha
