Paddy78
So, my mechanical skills are still very much in their infancy, but never-the-less, I had a go at installing a new throttle body over the weekend. Everything went on OK, but I now have a very erratic idle ranging from 600-3000 rpm or stall. I've not done any resets yet as I wanted to make sure the exact one required. Could someone please confirm which procedures I need to complete? Is it the full list: ECU reset Accelerator Pedal Release Position Learn Throttle Valve Closed Position Learn Idle Air Volume Learn Anything else I should do / check? This is the first time I've tried the TB after buying it from a member on here, so hopefully a reset will do the trick and it isn't a duff! flyboy
All of them cant hurt although probably just the 3rd one will suffice.
Keyser
What he said ^^^^^^^ However you can do all of them the ECU being the last. Why did you change the TB?
Ricey
My understanding was just number 3 but as said the lot can't hurt really.

Paddy78
Thanks all, everything sorted! Muppet here had trapped the rubber thing near the oil filler cap in the plenum... I clearly should never be let near anything mechanical! Anyway, back idling smoothly at 750rpm now!

Humpy
Well done mate, you weren't the first and you won't be the last to do that So true. If I did this my car would be on fire before I knew it
