Throttle Body Install - Now Problems :)

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

So, my mechanical skills are still very much in their infancy, but never-the-less, I had a go at installing a new throttle body over the weekend. Everything went on OK, but I now have a very erratic idle ranging from 600-3000 rpm or stall.

I've not done any resets yet as I wanted to make sure the exact one required. Could someone please confirm which procedures I need to complete?

Is it the full list:

ECU reset

Accelerator Pedal Release Position Learn

Throttle Valve Closed Position Learn

Idle Air Volume Learn

Anything else I should do / check? This is the first time I've tried the TB after buying it from a member on here, so hopefully a reset will do the trick and it isn't a duff!

Thanks all, everything sorted! Muppet here had trapped the rubber thing near the oil filler cap in the plenum... I clearly should never be let near anything mechanical! Anyway, back idling smoothly at 750rpm now! :)

Well done mate, you weren't the first and you won't be the last to do that :)

So true.

If I did this my car would be on fire before I knew it :teeth:
