iwanprice12 Posted March 30, 2014 Share Posted March 30, 2014 I was cleaning the car over the weekend, and have struggled to get rid of dried up, stubborn brake dust! Have tried alloy wheel cleaner and a bit of elbow grease, but wondering if there was am essier way? coldel Posted March 30, 2014 Share Posted March 30, 2014 I would keep softening it up with a washmit of hot water (with car wash shampoo) - bit of inoffensive wheel cleaner and repeat process until it goes. Tried it several times with alloy wheel cleaner, maybe the cloth i was using was too soft. Once I polish the wheels up and get rid of the brake dust, i give them 2 or 3 coats of poor mans wheel sealant. Brake dust is a nightmare though, seems to melt its way into my alloys. Topodave Posted April 6, 2014 Share Posted April 6, 2014 I'd recommend to put on "Einszett Wheel Cleaner" or even "Einszett Colourtec" applied with a detail brush.
