fellsteruk
So I got my bumper off and to the body shop today finally managed to get the washer jets off but the external painted bit was a right pain to separate. I cannot see how I am going to be able to put them back on when I get the bumper back, is there a tip/trick?
glrnet
If you mean the outside painted part, I've done this once before, I think you just manually pull out the "tube" and then it becomes quite obvious how the outside painted part fixes to the "tube" but I can't remember the detail. If I can work it out though.................
fellsteruk
Yeah the painted bits are attached to the actual jet with two small screws was a pita to get off but I don't think I could get them back on even with a 2nd pair of hands helping as there isn't much access to the screws
glrnet
That rings some bells with me now, I managed it but I can't remember how I did it, sorry. Don't be afraid to pull the jet up through the hole, it will pull through, that much I do remember.
ZMANALEX
The jet is attached to the the painted cover with 2 screws. Simply pull out the spring loaded "tube" and the above jet and cover just clips in. A very simple operation once you have done it once. Alex. headrush
Just done mine after fitting oil cooler, pull washer unit out and then attach painted front with 2x short screws best to use a stubby driver.
ZMANALEX
Just done mine after fitting oil cooler, pull washer unit out and then attach painted front with 2x short screws best to use a stubby driver. That is the hard way mate: The easy way is to simply attach the painted cover to the jet with the 2 screws, and then pull out the "tube" and clip in the jet and cover as one unit. fellsteruk
Hmmm. That would have saved me a load of time, but will help when I get the bumper back and fit it. Thanks
