The Chubby Ninja
just thought id let you guys know what i was upto at the weekend. ive worked on my cars before and managed to install my supercharger and fuel system and things like that but ive never took out a complete engine. my mates fully forged and turbod ep3 honda civic snapped his flywheel so the easiest way to get to the clutch is to take the whole engine and gearbox out. it was good experience and im learning and enjoying every minute of it. i only really got photos of it once it was out as we were really busy before. the cars running 360hp and 400ft/lbs of torque. its a bit of a monster . the reason the flywheel snapped is the `tuning` garage that built his motor only put one bolt in the starter motor causing it to twist and wore away the teeth on the fly and it eventually split into 2 pieces. it was a clutchmasters lightweight fly so wasnt as if it was a cheap part. and the flywheel Edited March 25, 2014 by The Chubby Ninja
Briggsybriggs1
That looked like fun . But it's only fun if you have the right tools for the job :-) I would love to take my engine out and rebuild it :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited March 25, 2014 by Briggsybriggs1
GMballistic
Love the back end on that Type R. Bet it's hard for him not to wheel spin though in every gear when it's running right unless he's got monster drag slicks on the front wheels.
R35LEE
Nice EP3 and awesome engine
The Chubby Ninja
I'd love to build my engine. I've been looking into it but there's too much risk in buggering it up. Yeah the back ends lovely on it. It's spins like crazy but the lid gets pretty decent grip once you're going

flyboy
Good job!, It gets easier the more engines you take out. Took my first one out aged 16.

jumping350
Beast of an EP3 there, I used to have the coupe version wanted to do what you did before the zed came along ...great job Me and my mate dropped gearbox out onto crates and used about 5 jacks then couldn't line the bugger up which resulted in us kicking it back in there Edited April 13, 2014 by jumping350
Rock_Steady
Very nice. A blown V-tec! I love it. But will it wheel spin in motion when changing gear? if so, I love it even more!!!
